Paint Color Transformations to Entice Home Buyers
Let's face it, sometimes we feel like we are ready for a new look - a total transformation. Remember the New Jan Brady?

Well, that one didn't go so well for Jan. But at some point, it may be time for a transformation!
I often talk about transforming an interior space with paint. As a REALTOR® and Expert Psychological Stager™, I know that not everybody can walk in a space and envision its possibilities. A lot of people have a hard time getting past the cosmetic/aesthetic issues in a home. That's why encourage my clients to update their interior paint colors if necessary.
However, the first photo that most people see of a home for sale is the exterior facade shot.
That's why curb appeal is so important. In the National Association of REALTORS® article How Much Does Curb Appeal Affect Home Value they found that "Homes with high curb appeal tend to sell for an average of 7% more than similar houses with an uninviting exterior, according to a joint study by the University of Alabama and the University of Texas at Arlington. Further, the premium rises to as high as 14% in slower real estate markets with greater housing inventory, shows the study, which was published in the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics."
Recently Brick & Batten release an article that showed the 13 Colors that Buyers Want.
I LOVE a good Before and After and Brick & Batten did not disappoint. What's fascinating is that you can do light OR dark. Normally, when I think of painting a brick house, I think of going lighter. Like this:
Pretty amazing, right?!
But what about going darker? Check this one out:
See what a difference painting a house makes?
Even if you are not thinking about selling your home but are ready to give it a fresh new look, I hope these photos help you imagine the amazing transformation that paint can do. Paint is magic!
